Still Looking for Part Time Help, But Let Me Clarify A Little
March 29, 2007
I’ve received quite a few emails from people in response to my search for part-time help. I haven’t really decided on anyone yet – or even answered most of the emails as I’ve been real busy working some things out lately that have to do with the growth of Masuga Design (and the details of which will be written about here, I can assure you). All the emails are flagged and marked as “to respond”, and I’ve (seriously) been trying to find the time to respond to some of them. Some, I say, because I need to clarify what I’m looking for, just a little bit. If you need a refresher, here’s a little of what I’m after: (original post). This initial part-part-time work could certainly lead to “full” part-time work and even an eventual full-time position.
1. I would prefer that people be in West Michigan, and preferably the Grand Rapids area. I apologize to those people in Afghanistan (I’m not kidding…at least he got decent marks in school), Australia (decent looking work, though, mate), and various states throughout our fine nation, but I think it would be enormously helpful to meet up at least every so often, if not a few days a week. Or something. We’d work it out.
2. I can’t work with you if you build and layout websites with tables. Period. It’s 2007, and you just don’t do that anymore. I would suggest you go read Bulletproof Web Design by Dan Cederholm right now, and get back with me.
3. Specialize in something. If you’ve studied 50 different software programs that’s great and all, but you’re probably pretty diluted, I can assume you’re not really good with Photoshop, or Illustrator, or CSS and HTML, or PHP.
That’s about it. Thanks for your help!
