Interior Concepts
Interior Concepts, a custom furniture manufacturer located in Spring Lake, Michigan, needed to update their website with their new look, as provided by a professional design firm. They also required a more search-engine friendly site to help improve their position online. I took their existing, static site and rebuilt it on top of a very robust content management system that allows them to update almost every aspect of their site, including adding events, uploading PDF files, and updating product images and more.
I took care to make sure that the site was as search-engine friendly as I could make it by building the site with table-less HTML and CSS markup, applying alt attributes to images, advising on some of the copy, and making the URL’s as cruft-free and readable (by human and search-engine alike) as possible. I also ensured that old pages (particularly those that were most likely to have been bookmarked) were redirected to their new counterparts wherever possible. In addition to those steps, I am running very detailed search-engine reports for a number of months so we can determine the best way to further refine their site so as to gain maximum organic search-engine exposure.
