Heavy on the content, and easy on the content management. World Hum hired Masuga Design to update their exisitng ExpressionEngine installation soon after they were acquired by the Travel Channel. We worked closely with the Travel Channel design team to create standards-compliant HTML templates from their Photoshop files, and optimized the entire ExpressionEngine build.
We developed very fine-grained control over homepage content display using various custom fields in the control panel, allowing editors to easily select what articles and features appear there. For example, they can hand-pick all the articles to fit a specific theme, or they can let any or all sections work automatically, pulling the most recent articles.
We established a publishing workflow to allow the numerous contributors to submit stories for review before being published on the live site.
We also created XML feeds for other Scripps networks entities such as The Food Network to tie into the information and posts on World Hum.
